Walking out to check an empty letterbox, then missing the delivery that actually mattered, is a small daily annoyance with a simple fix. The X-Sense mailbox alarm is a wireless sensor that sits inside the box and a base station that sits inside the house: the moment the lid opens, the base station chimes and your phone gets a notification. You go out once, when there is something to collect.
Sensor plus base station, paired in minutes
The sensor talks to the included SBS50 base station on its own radio link, and the base station handles the alert. Setup is a one-time pairing in the X-Sense app — shown end to end in the review above — after which the sensor itself needs nothing further.
Range that reaches the gate
Long open-air range between sensor and base station, so the box can be at the main gate, at the bottom of a drive or in a shared entrance and the alert still reaches a room upstairs.
Not just for post
It is an open-detection sensor with an alarm, so it does the same job anywhere something should not open unnoticed — a side gate, a store room, a shed, a back door, a cabinet. Many people buy it for the letterbox and end up moving it to the gate.
Fits in a few minutes
Adhesive pads or screws, your choice, with no wiring and nothing drilled through the box. Low-power design means the sensor battery lasts years rather than needing attention every few weeks.
- Instant alert the moment the mailbox or door opens
- SBS50 base station included in the box
- Phone notifications through the X-Sense app, wherever you are
- Long-range wireless link between sensor and base station
- Adhesive or screw mounting, fitted in minutes
- Low-power design — years of sensor battery life
- Works equally well on a gate, shed, store room or back door
This is the exact unit filmed for the review above, inspected before listing — which is why it is half the price of a new one. Watch the review to see the setup and hear how loud the alarm actually is, then fit it on whatever you are tired of checking.
